In the mid-1980s, the TTC gave two aging PCC streetcars a second life. Originally built as A-8 class cars (4505 and 4512), they were completely rebuilt and renumbered 4600 and 4601, becoming the prototype A-15 class — the TTC’s last major PCC rebuild.
