A new 2-mile highway linking I-5 and the Port of Tacoma is coming and here’s an animation of what it will look like. Part of the SR 167 Completion Project, the highway will move freight more reliably to and from the port while taking truck traffic off local roads. Construction starts in mid-2022 and is scheduled to be completed in 2026. Once it’s done, the final project to complete the rest of the unfinished SR 167 between I-5 and Puyallup will get going.
