Hearing your talking dog tell you what makes them happy is one of life’s great treasures 😊. Which made this conversation from the other day very special. One of Stella’s favorite parts of the day is when Max comes home from daycare and we all walk around the park together. A couple minutes after Jake left to pick Max up, Stella said “Jake.” When I told her he was getting Max, Stella immediately knew what that meant! She responded “Where? Happy outside.” Fast forward 5 minutes, when Jake and Max

If there’s one thing I wish everyone knew, it’s that communication devices exist, and they can completely change the lives of people with significant speech and language challenges. No matter someone’s age, cognitive abilities, or physical needs, there are AAC solutions that can help them say words, share their thoughts,

Don’t leave without me! Dogs are so great at picking up on routine activities and using cues from their environment to figure out what’s happening. After I put my coat and shoes on and got Max’s stroller out, Stella knew we were getting ready to leave & she wanted to come too! Stella said “Bye come.” After I responded saying “Yes Stella come bye” she checked in with me, said “Want come,” and nudged Max’s stroller. In case that wasn’t enough for me to understand, she sat right on my foot ensuring

This morning’s update on the Baby Talking Dog saga: Stella sat right next to me as we watched Max explore the “All done” and “Where” buttons. She didn’t seem bothered, just observant. After he finished, I told Stella that Max was trying her buttons. Smarty Stella walked over and said “All done where” the EXACT words Max was exploring!!! Do you think Max is imitating Stella who is now imitating Max? 🤯🤯 Or do you think Stella was commenting to me something along the lines of “Yeah he said all do

While I was eating lunch, Stella commented “Now eat.” 🍽 This little observation may not seem like much at first, but by providing the space for your dog to simply point out what’s going on in their environment, you’re allowing them to express themselves in the moment with something they find notable. So, while a routine lunch at home may not be the most newsworthy thing to us, our dogs evolved to be watchful guardians and caretakers, making them more sensitive to their surroundings. So, to them

Rain, rain, go away ☔️ What do you and your dog do on a rainy day? Stella seems to be taking this one ok – she came over and plopped down on the ground next to me after I gave her the bad news. Sorry to rain on your parade, girl! 💔 #hunger4words #stella #bestwoof | Christina Hunger

Dogs & peanut butter: a love story. A few years ago, we started giving Stella a @kongcompany with peanut butter whenever we’d leave her behind at the house. It quickly become her favorite treat! Now, when she sees us getting ready to go she’ll proactively ask for “play bye eat.” Play = the Kong Bye = she knows we’re leaving Eat = peanut buttery goodness But here’s the kicker: she also uses this phrase when she thinks we’ve been home too long 😂. It’s her little way of saying she’s ready for some
