*SPOILERS* My favorite One Piece arcs. Forgot to add a spoiler tag they’re mostly thematic but still beware. #onepiece #onepieceedit #luffy #zoro #strawhats

I reading One Piece for the first time, here are my thoughts on Skypiea (pt 1). P.s. Nola is the goat and I love her. I’ll always ride for the One Piece animals, even if @Jay D. 🎵 makes fun of me for it. #onepiece #onepieceedit #luffy #sanji #nami

Acrylic on panel, “A Mother’s Crown”, 2020. This piece was an epic piece I created from a photo I took out on Safari in the Serengeti in 2019 with my husband and in-laws. She was playing with her calf, rumbling between the members of her family. I got the distinct feeling of admiration for the “mother” and the power required to raise another being in the world. This painting was a joy and an honour to paint. To capture this elephant in her moment, forever living on in the painting. #wildlifeonea

This piece is by far one of my favourites! Very jealous of my collector in Hawaii who has this as one of her feature pieces 😆😆😆😆🤩 I painted this in 2018, acrylic on linen... or canvas? I can’t quite remember. Reference photo was thanks to @yosomono.photography .. .. #snowleopard #leopardpainting #leopardportrait #acrylicpainting #realism #luxuryart | Carla Grace Art

Which medium did I use for this piece? In all honesty, I actually can’t remember. I did this painting years ago… I think I At least started it with acrylic and then finished it with oils?? 🤷♀️🤷♀️ seems like something I’d do. This is a wedge tail eagle, I worked on the portrait quickly so that I’d focus on capturing the emotion in the pose rather than strictly copy the detail. I used colour to convey the connection and experimented with intentional brush work rather than repetitive detail. #o

Peacock commission, acrylic on panel, 2022. A favourite piece of mine! Sold. It still amazes me that I was creating work like this with a new born baby that didn’t sleep. Two years later and I don’t think I could do it again. The power of determination can be incredible, even unbelievable in hindsight! #wildlifeartist #acrylicpainting #acrylicartwork #peacockfeathers #birdpainting | Carla Grace Art

Where should this piece be hung? After 6 months, this oil painting was my first in the “imaginative realism” genre. I love it! As I have always been stuck in straight up “realism”, creating something totally different was exciting. However, I failed at it many times throughout the process. I have always imagined this piece being part of a bridal collection. Tag any bridal companies here that need to have this original in their collection/show room 🤩 #bridalcollection #bridalshowroom #luxurybrid

This piece was the hardest painting I’ve ever done. Getting off the starting line here was scary in that I didn’t know if I could pull it off. There were too many things Tha could go wrong: The references were blurry I was making up majority of the lighting, colour and detail It was a high profile collaboration - others were counting on it being a success I had never painted animals from this angle before. This was the work from the first week of bringing the first lion onto the surface of the p

This was the first piece that I Frankensteined a whole animal from the parts of many animals. I couldn’t find a reference with the exact pose I saw in my vision for the painting, so I created it. Finally back working on this piece. I must admit, my head has moved onto the bigger piece I’m planning but this situation is where I excel… doing something for the pure purpose of finishing it. I hate leaving a piece unfinished. If all goes well for the rest of this week, there is 2.5 days of work left on this piece 🥰 #oil_painting #flamingos #flamingoart #wildlifepaintings #wildlifepainting #wildlifeartists #wildlifeartwork #traditionalpainting #traditionalartist #fineartwork #realisticpaintin

Something new for us - this is Steve Reich's "Clapping Music". The piece was written in 1972, for two performers, with no instruments; just clapping. We were asked to learn this for a memorial service, and it was an interesting challenge! 😎👏🎶 | Larry and Carla - Choraegus

The next one doesn’t always have to be your next best piece… just make sure that there is always a ‘next one’. I get so caught up in needing my new work to be my new best, that I don’t allow myself to become immersed in the painting as it is. This little portrait of a horse won’t be winning any awards, but it filled my heart with joy to create. Sometimes making a painting for the sake of the fulfilment it gifts us with, is more important than creating the artwork that makes headlines. Rememberin

This painting has changed ALOT over the past 3 months. I began this piece in December, but haven’t been able to paint it fully in one chunk of time. I knew this was what this year was going to be like. Building a studio was going have that effect on my work flow. But I can confidently say I think that I like where the painting is at right now! #wildlifeart #horseart #equineart #fineart #realism #realismpainting #realismart | Carla Grace Art

I rarely do a painting just for fun. This is the last piece out of 7 tiny paintings over done over the holiday season just for the fun of it. 2 hours maximum spent on each one. This is an Australian black cockatoo. Painted with @m.grahamco acrylic paint Lovely dress from @balticbornclothing 😜 I haven’t gotten paint on my clothing in years so decided to wear my nice dresses that have been neglected for too long. Here’s to living on the edge 🤣🤷♀️ #australianbirds #birdpainting #wildlifelover #

💔 With a heart full of memories, I’m saying goodbye – my little boutique is closing as I step into retirement 😢 Every piece I’ve made carries a story — of love, loss, and the beautiful bond we share with those closest to us. Now, my final collection is here — handcrafted with care, and waiting to become part of your story. 💫 Take one last look… you might just find something that feels like it was made for you. | Carla Jewelry

Acrylic on top and oils on the bottom. 6 hours painting in total for each piece. The oil painting was done in two sittings allowing the blocking in layer to dry. I’ve been told I work with oils the same way I work with acrylic - this is in fact not true. For the simplification of not only teaching the lesson but for editing the tutorial footage, I don’t jump back and forth between random colour mixes erratically. I work systematically with each colour mix. Beginner level tutorial filmed for rele

This one was planned down to every single detail. Instead of a performance on stage, this painting was commissioned and every single stage of the creation was intentional. My collector watched every brush stroke take shape through daily sharing and we knew exactly what we were creating. I have always prioritised my collectors experience with their paintings, and beyond what I share on social media, they get many more close ups and progress videos if they want it. We knew the value of the piece b

Base detail for the mane is done. This means I have added a more focussed level of blocking in. I’ve painted according to the shapes I see in the mane, slowly making the shapes more and more broken up. I haven’t tried to paint individual hairs - I don’t plan on doing much of this for this painting. The movement in the mane is the key element in this piece that creates the atmosphere of a dream-like state. The tones vary from pink to silver, with a little seasoning of tan. I have never painted wi

Acrylic on panel, 2018. The intensity in both the finished stare and the act of painting this piece is unforgettable. It’s been a few years, but I still remember the aches in my neck and shoulders. Worth it 😊 | Carla Grace Art

Here's another Christmas carol from yesterday evening. The camera was in the wrong place, resulting in the video being more close-up than we planned, but still, it's a jolly tune, so we decided to post it here anyway. "I Saw Three Ships" is an English carol with a melody that probably originated in the 17th century. We often like to start our outdoor holiday performances with this one, using it as our "warm-up" piece. If this doesn't warm us up, nothing will, really. 😂❄️🎶 #Handbells #HandbellD

When I visualise my ideas and try and grasp my concepts, they literally look like stars in a galaxy to my minds eye. I can see the different aspects of the painting that I want to bring to life, but they are floating independently of one another and I need to bring them together. In a sense I need to flatten the elements together, in the same way you would with a rolling pin and collection of differently coloured play dough pieces. Creating thumb nail sketches is vital in the situations where th

Been a while since I’ve shown a video of a painting from start to finish... this was done in 2018, acrylic on panel. This piece was the start of my exploring and experimenting with combining different elements into a wildlife portrait. I’ve been training myself to be able to put together a series like “the Uninvited” for years. The technical aspects to these works are so intricate it’s required practice in areas I never knew I’d need it. Been worth all the years of learning though 😊 .. .. #snow
