Former second gentleman Doug Emhoff said Tuesday he had been dismissed from the board of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum by President Donald Trump's administration.

In response to his removal from the Holocaust Memorial Council, former second gentleman Doug Emhoff said Holocaust remembrance "should never be politicized."

Critics see the terminations as an effort to politicize the Holocaust museum. The White House says Trump will appoint new board members "who are also steadfast supporters of the State of Israel."
