TAMPA — The Bucs began the week eying a new backup quarterback. On Saturday night, Kyle Trask gave them a reason not to look past him so quickly. The former Gators star, fighting for his job against newly-signed veteran Teddy Bridgewater, proved more than capable in the Bucs’ 29-7 preseason win over the Titans.

Bucs quarterback Kyle Trask handled himself just fine during his and the rest of the team’s preseason opener on Saturday night. Entering his fifth season, Trask has remained entrenched as the top backup to Baker Mayfield since Mayfield signed with the team during the 2023 season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got their 2025 preseason off on the right foot with a 29-7 win over the Tennessee Titans. With the vast majority of the starters getting the night off, it was an opportunity for a number of other players to step up,
