Tropical Cyclone Alfred is now expected to make landfall early on Saturday morning—later than initial estimates that suggested it would strike southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales on Friday.

Cyclone Alfred is bearing down on south-east Queensland and north-east New South Wales and is now expected to make landfall at Redcliffe, just north of Brisbane. Strong winds and heavy rain are already making an impact.

Four million people are in the firing line of Cyclone Alfred. It's expected to hit between the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast - a stretch of Australia known for its beautiful beaches and top surf – as well as Brisbane, Australia's third-biggest city.
