Jerry Jones is lifting the lid on his secret battle with cancer. The loquacious Dallas Cowboys owner, 82, told The Dallas Morning News he was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in June 2010 and survived a decade-long fight thanks to an experimental drug.

On the same day Jerry Jones’ prior cancer diagnosis was revealed, coach Brian Schottenheimer shared his own story about battling cancer.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed this week that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma in June 2010 and underwent four surgeries, two on his lungs and two on lymph nodes, over the following decade, according to the organization.
