Zohran Mamdani has buzz and some momentum in New York City’s mayoral race. But can a 33-year-old democratic socialist beat former Gov.
Bloomberg was never a great fan of Cuomo, and his own endorsement of the ex-governor wasn’t terribly enthusiastic. But Bloomberg is a strong supporter of Israel and firmly opposed to the progressive left. Mamdani, who is strongly pro-tenant and very critical of the finance and real estate worlds, represents all that Bloomberg loathes.
