North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will mark the 65 th Anniversary of the Woolworth Sit-Ins./ On February 1 st, 1960, four North Carolina A&T students started a peaceful protest at the segregated Woolworth Lunch Counter.

Remembrances are happening January 31 and February 1, marking the 65th anniversary of the Greensboro sit-ins. The building where the civil rights protest began, Woolworth's, is now a National Historic Landmark. The original lunch counter is still preserved inside the museum.

Drivers are experiencing delays on Interstate 85 South/40 West as a result of a “non-vehicle fire” in Greensboro, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The fire is in between Mile Marker 133 and Mile Marker 132 near Exit 132 for Mt Hope Chruch Road in Greensboro.

OLD FORT, N.C. – An outside fire has been reported off of Bat Cave Road in Old Fort. Reports say that the fire was caused by a tree falling onto a power line. Emergency crews are on scene working to contain the fire. Officials state that Bat Cave Road is currently closed to traffic, and that all vehicles will be detoured onto Pine Cove Road.
