Residents of California have been battling a destructive force of nature for several days. Jamie Lee Curtis spoke out on the matter and compared the devastated areas to the destruction in war-torn countries.
Jamie Lee Curtis is facing backlash after comparing fire-ravaged Los Angeles neighborhoods to war-torn countries in the Middle East. “The entire Pacific Palisades looks like, you know, unfortunately, Gaza or one of these war-torn countries where awful things have happened,” the actress, 66, said during a Q&A for “The Last Showgirl” posted to X.
Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well,” Jamie Lee Curtis said on Instagram.
Jamie Lee Curtis expressed her deep concern over the devastating impact of the fires, showing smoke-filled skies surrounding her neighborhood.
"It's f***ing gnarly, you guys. It’s just a catastrophe," the actress said Wednesday night, later posting on Instagram that she was in touch with California Gov. Gavin Newsom about where funds are needed.
"This is literally where I live," said the Oscar-winning actress and Red Cross ambassador said during her January 8 Tonight Show appearance.
