Snow could be coming to the tri-state just as December begins, and the National Weather Service now says some areas north and west of New York City could see higher totals than earlier expected.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Southern Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties, as well as Potter and McKean counties in PA, from 1 AM Wednesday through 10 PM Wednesday.
The National Weather Service forecasts a mix of sun, snow, and rain for New York City boroughs, with varying chances of precipitation but without expecting hazardous conditions.
The latest outlooks follow a Climate Prediction Center winter forecast issued in October. That forecast, which encapsulated December, January and February, predicted that downstate New York would largely experience above-average temperatures.
