The NBA's top stars went all guns blazing on Wednesday. Three players — Giannis Antetokounmpo (59), Victor Wembanyama (50) and Karl-Anthony Towns (46) — scored at least 45 points and another, Jordan Poole, went off for 42. The quartet of stars made a bit of NBA history in the process.

The Cavs became just the eighth team in NBA history to win their first 12 games of the regular season. But they still have a long way to go to break the NBA record for best start.

Victor Wembanyama has lived up to the hype so far in his young NBA career and he took another step towards stardom on Wednesday night when he scored a career-high 50 points in the San Antonio Spurs' 139-130 win over the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards show some fight, overcoming a 16-point deficit to forge a tie in the second half, but they have no answer for the Wembanyama.

Wembanyama seems to be figuring things out. He and the Spurs play the Lakers as part of a big NBA Cup Friday schedule.
