The club was put behind the eight ball by a trio of first-period penalties as the blue line struggled to play disciplined hockey. For the second consecutive night, the Vancouver Canucks could not come up with a victory as they fell 2-1 to the Utah Hockey Club. Jake DeBrusk scored the only goal, while Artūrs Šilovs made 30 saves.
