More than 40 million people are under blizzard warnings as a winter storm bears down on the East Coast with heavy snow and fierce winds Sunday into Monday.

Winter keeps showing off its strength, and on Monday, Feb. 23, the National Weather Service (NWS) intensified its warning of severe weather across parts of the country, heading into Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Strong winds are also expected to create snow drifting even after the snow stops.
