A major snowstorm brought the highest snow totals the Triad has seen in years

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Snow will pass through portions of Southwest and Central Virginia on Saturday. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories will remain in effect through Sunday morning for counties south of Interstate 64.

What to Know A foot or more of snow could blanket the NYC area this weekend, as much of the U.S. is bracing for a massive winter storm. Parts of the region, like Poughkeepsie, could see 18+ inches. It appears the storm will arrive Sunday morning and will lead to hours of snowfall.

Forecasts show continued cold through the weekend, as heavy winds blowing new snow in York, Lancaster and Chester counties.

Snow started falling across New Jersey right on schedule early Sunday, with the heaviest snowfall along with a mix of sleet and freezing rain in some areas expected this afternoon.
