More than 7,700 flights have been canceled across the United States since the FAA began restricting flight capacity at 40 major airports on Friday due to the ongoing government shutdown. FlightAware data shows 1,025 cancellations on Friday and 1,566 on Saturday for flights “within, into, or out of the United States.”

NEW YORK (AP) — Major U.S. airports are among those facing 10% reductions in air traffic Friday due to the government shutdown. A list distributed to airlines and obtained by The Associated Press includes airports in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles among the 40 that will see flights slashed.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says the number of fatalities from the UPS plane crash at the Louisville airport is expected to grow.

"Prior to departure from New York LaGuardia (LGA), customers on Delta flight 2313 to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) were deplaned and transported back to the terminal due to a potential security concern," Delta told BMTN.

UPS has released the names of the crew members on board the plane that crashed at the Louisville Airport. The crew members aboard UPS Flight 2976 were identified as Captain Richard Wartenberg, who is from Independence,
