Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Monday that her country would wait and see whether US President Donald Trump follows through with his threat to impose tariffs on its southern neighbour on Tuesday.

The US has threatened tariffs on Mexican goods, but Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has assured her country that contingency preparations are already in place.
