ATLANTA — Accumulating snow arrives overnight and Saturday morning at the beginning of a prolonged cold snap to the region, during which much of north Georgia will spend 60+ hours at or below freezing.

Snow is winding down across metro Atlanta and north Georgia, leaving behind significant accumulation in some areas.

ATL DOT is using brine and salt to raise pavement temperatures and prevent snow from sticking.
