Several lanes of the busy 405 Freeway in Los Angeles were closed during the Friday morning rush hour after a police shooting in the area. All northbound lanes of the freeway near Howard Hughes Parkway were shut down as police investigated.
The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert for the freeway at Howard Hughes Parkway due to police activity. All northbound lanes were closed through the morning until about 12:40 p.m.
Authorities Saturday identified a man who was fatally shot by police after he allegedly fired at officers with a “ghost gun” during a vehicle chase on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Westchester. The decedent was identified as Thomas Hearn,
Police said during the investigation that officers discovered a loaded BB gun inside the passenger compartment.
