Whittingham said Sunday during his introductory press conference that the first player he sat down with was freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood, the top-rated player in the 2025 recruiting cycle who has eclipsed 2,500 yards of total offense this season ahead of Wednesday's battle against Texas in the Citrus Bowl.
Kyle Whittingham is set to be introduced as Michigan's new head football coach during a press conference on Sunday at 11 a.m. The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. The Wolverines are in Orlando for the Citrus Bowl, and they will face Texas on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Camping World Stadium.
Whittingham spent roughly 45 minutes with the freshman quarterback this morning, kicking off face-to-face meetings with players to learn about them. The goal, of course, is to convince as many as he can to stick around and avoid entering the transfer portal when it opens on Friday.
Michigan has found their man! The Wolverines have named a new head coach. Former Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham will now be the head coach at Michigan. Whittingham stepped down from Utah at the end of this season,
Cougars defensive coordinator Jay Hill will leave Provo to accept the same position with the Wolverines, according to a Sunday report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Hill is now reunited with Whittingham, who he both played and coached under for 15 combined seasons at Utah.
