This is the 10th episode of eruptive activity from Kilauea since Dec. 23, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said.

Hawaii's Kilauea volcano erupted for the 10th time Wednesday evening with spectacular lava fountains, about a week after the ninth episode ended, scientists said.

Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes, has been erupting on and off for nearly two months since it burst to life on Dec. 23.
