Hurricane Erin weakened to a Category 3 hurricane on Sunday, its outer bands lashing the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, as forecasters warned the storm was rapidly growing.
The storm will remain a major hurricane through the middle of the week, according to the National Hurricane Center.
According to AccuWeather, Hurricane Erin is expected to strengthen rapidly over the weekend, and could intensify into a major Category 4 storm.
